The last home of actress Marilyn Monroe was spared demolition by a judge who declined the request of its new owners to halt its designation by the city of Los Angeles as an historic landmark so they could level the property.
A judge sided Tuesday with the city following a hearing last week, though his brief written order did not explain his reasoning.
Monroe bought the house in the Brentwood area and lived there for six months before she died of an overdose of barbiturates in 1962. Since then, the house has had numerous owners. In 2023, it was bought by Brinah Milstein, the daughter of a prominent Cleveland real estate developer, and Roy Bank, a reality TV producer, for $8.35 million.
The couple, who live next door, had planned to combine the two properties and initially obtained a demolition permit. But preservationists persuaded city officials that the structure should be preserved.
An attorney for the couple didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

I can't believe this nonsense is still going on. Of all the properties in Los Angeles this vile person continues this push to remove Marilyn's home. Just move already!
